Venus Flytraps are the most famous of all the carnivorous plants. They are native to a very small area near Wilmington, North Carolina. The total area is estimated to be only ten by ten square miles. Such a small natural distribution has put these fascinating plants in danger of extinction. With every new road, new housing development, or new pine tree farm, a bit more of their habitat is permanently destroyed.
